Doing Business with the CSIRO ICT Centre

The CSIRO ICT Centre has a long record in the development of breakthrough technologies and in many cases is Australia’s source of expertise in computer science, wireless telecommunications, networking technologies, robotics and sensor networks.

It is continually looking for paths to adoption for its research outcomes. Here are few ways in which we work.

Consultancy

Engaging CSIRO’s scientists in a consultancy capacity enables us to apply our diverse knowledge and research skills to the problems of industry. Engaging with CSIRO on a consultancy basis provides the opportunity for small and large organisations to bring CSIRO’s multi-disciplinary science talent to bear on their business issues.

Whether you are a multinational corporation, an SME, a government department, university or any other type of organisation, CSIRO’s consultancy services are professionally matched to your needs. We provide efficient, effective consulting arrangements that are customised to suit the specific needs of our clients.

Contract Research

Contract research services are a simple way of accessing our wide scientific base of research expertise and specialised facilities. CSIRO's contract research services can be tailored to suit specific projects and enable small and large organisations to access our multi-disciplinary science talent to address their specific R&D issues.

Engaging CSIRO to undertake contract research enables your organisation to access a wide scientific base of research talent as well as specialised facilities to address your specific business issue. Contract research services are best suited to projects where CSIRO can tailor an existing service or capability to suit your specific requirements. We've also implemented a more streamlined contracting process, FastTrack, which makes working with CSIRO easier.

Licensing & Equity

Organisations harness our technologies in many different ways and whilst the same general principles are applied, each licence is tailored to ensure it meets the needs of all parties. From exclusive to non-exclusive, from Australian-only rights to worldwide the examples below demonstrate the variety of approaches taken to licensing agreements, depending on the technology, the use, the licensee and potential market value.

Partnering and Co-investment

CSIRO's partners come in all shapes and sizes, from Australia's largest corporations and technology focussed SMEs to State and Federal Government departments, universities, other research organisations, Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs) and Rural Development Corporations (RDCs).

CSIRO is currently engaged in a select number of long-term, strategic joint ventures. These joint ventures bring together organisations with similar capabilities and enable greater scale, efficiency and impact than either party could achieve alone. Find out more...
